Alarm Registration

Effective April 29, 1996, all residential and business alarm systems in the township must be registered through the Police Department (Township Ordinance Chapter 66).

Applications to register individual alarm systems can be obtained 24 hours a day at police headquarters or click on the link below. There is a one-time registration fee of ten dollars ($10.00).

Individuals wishing to register their alarm system can do so with the Police Department either in-person, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or through the mail. When registering by mail, please address your envelope to the police department and enclose a check or money order payable to the Township of Manalapan.

Important Notice

There has been some confusion regarding the difference between the application to register your alarm with the Police Department and the application to the Township for a permit to install the alarm. They are not the same. The permit to install the alarm system is obtained through the Construction Office and is required before the system can be initially installed. Once functional, the system should then be registered with the Police Department.

If you have any questions concerning your alarm system, please call the police department at 446-8376.
