The applicant must provide a valid photo government issued identification with the applicant’s current address, for the application process. (driver’s license, pass port, county identification, etc.)
Application for Firearms
Purchaser Identification Card
- $5.00 fee
- Personal check or money order made to Township of Manalapan
- Applicants must be 18
years or older
Application to Purchase a Handgun
- $2.00 per handgun permit fee
- Personal check or money order made to Township of Manalapan
- Handgun Permits are valid for a period of 90 days from the date of issue.
- You can only purchase one handgun at a time, with thirty days between purchases.
- Applicants must be 21
years or older to possess or purchase a handgun
Consent for Mental Health Records Search
- The applicant must complete part one of this form, but do not sign the form until the form is turned in.
- The form must be signed in the presence of the police officer or id officer who is receiving the form from the applicant.

Supplementary Firearms Application
The applicant must complete this form and provide all
information requested on the form.
Affidavit for Release of Records
The applicant
may complete this form and have it notarized with a raised seal at their own
expense, prior to submission.
Residence Form
The applicant must complete
this form and list all occupants of their residence, to include juveniles and
non-relatives residing in the home.
Previous Address Form (10
years)
The applicant
must complete this form and list all previous addresses over the last ten-year
period.
Fingerprinting for Firearms Applicants
- All first time applicants must obtain a money order for $60.25 made out to “morphotrak”.
- Once the initial application has been submitted to the police department, the applicant will be provided with a form and directed to the private vendor “morphotrak” for the taking of their fingerprints.
- The results from their fingerprints will be forwarded electronically to the Manalapan Police Department.
- The applicant must return the completed “morphotrak“ form to the police department once they have been fingerprinted.
All applicants must be aware that a delay in providing the necessary documents, or failing to provided the required information on the documents, will delay the issuance of any ID card or handgun permit.
