HOW DO I .....

Pickup an accident report. Call 732 446 1714 or 732 446 8375 and provide your name, date of accident and investigating officer.  We will check and see if it's ready for pickup.  Come to Town Hall and walk to the right as you enter the main door.  The Police Department records window is open from 0830 am to 4:30pm. You can obtain other police report copies in the same manner. (Note. Some police reports cannot be released through this process. Please contact us to find out if your report can be released)

Obtain a Temporary Handicap Parking Permit. Come to Headquarters between 8:00AM and 4:30PM. See one of our staff at the records window and obtain an State application. Take the form to your doctor and have them fill it out.  Return the form along with a check or money order in the amount of $4.00 made out to N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission to our Records Window. The permit will be issued.

Pay a Traffic Ticket. Click on the link for Pay a Traffic Ticket on the left side of this screen and you will be linked to the State site for paying such fines.

File a Police Report.  If you have an issue that does not require immediate police response, you may make a report at Police Headquarters.  Come in to town hall, bear to the right and pass the records window. Pick up one of the phones on the wall and speak directly to one of the police dispatchers.  They will help you speak to an officer to determine if a police report is needed.

Sign a Complaint. Any citizen wishing to sign a criminal complaint must do so in person, through the Court Administrator's office.  You need to make a police report first and then take a copy of the report to the Court Administrator.

Make an Internal Affairs Complaint.  Under the authority of the Chief of Police, the Administrative Division Commander, Captain Christopher Marsala, oversees the Internal Affairs function within the police department.   The goal of Internal Affairs is to ensure that the integrity of the police department is maintained through a system of internal discipline where fairness and justice are assured by objective, impartial investigation and review.  The Internal Affairs officer is responsible to conduct investigations of allegations of misconduct by members of the police department and review the adjudication of minor complaints handled by supervisors.  In addition, Internal Affairs is also responsible to coordinate investigations involving the discharge of firearms by agency personnel.

Every complaint received is taken seriously and investigated to its logical conclusion.
