Incident #2012-3042 - Simple Assault

 On 02/19/12 at approximately 9:05 pm Ptl. Bryan Belardo responded to Wendy’s in reference to a soda being thrown through the drive-thru window, striking an employee in the chest.  Upon arrival the victim (18 year old white male, Morganville resident) related a newer model royal blue 4-door Toyota Corolla went through the drive-thru and ordered a soda.  When the driver was handed the soda he immediately threw it back through the window striking the victim.  The occupants were described as 4 white males, approximately 18 years of age.  This case is pending investigation. 

Incident J2012-3035 - Missing Person/Suicidal

On Sunday, 02/19/12, at approximately 4:25 pm this agency responded to a residence on Caitlin Way in reference to a missing person report. It was determined that a 16 year old male had left his residence after an argument with his parents. The juvenile left a note indicating that he may harm himself. After a thorough investigation the juvenile was located and was brought to Centra State Medical Center for an evaluation.  This case was handled by Patrolman Jared Aronson.

 Incident 2012-3012  - Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI

 On 2/18/12 at 2342 hours Lt. Morrell and Officer Whitehill responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Rt 9 near Covered Bridge Blvd.  Upon investigation the driver Ronkin Vanberkle, 49 year old, black male, Lakewood, NJ, was arrested and charged with DWI careless driving and reckless driving. 

Incident 2012-2936 - Burglary/Criminal Mischief

On 02-17-12 at 3:27 pm a male Manalapan resident reported that his Iron Ore Road residence was burglarized by unknown suspect(s).  During the investigation it was deemed that entry was made into the residence by forcing open a rear door leading to the garage and then forcing open a door leading into the home. It was also determined that nothing had been removed from the residence.  The actor entered the residence sometime between 8:15 am and 3:00 pm. Ptl. Bart Mattaliano took the initial report.

Incident 2012-2899 - Vehicle Burglary/Theft

On 02/16/12 at 8:11 pm a male Manalapan resident reported that his vehicle had been burglarized and a digital camcorder had been removed from the Wegmans parking lot. Upon viewing surveillance video from the Wegman’s, 2 subjects were observed attempting to gain entry into numerous vehicles by pulling on door handles. The suspects were eventually observed gaining entry into the victim’s unlocked vehicle. The case is pending further investigation. Ptl. Michael Hoppock took the report.

Incident 2012-2895 - Burglary/Theft

 On Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 717pm a female Manalapan resident reported that someone removed several items valued at $695.00 from her deceased mother’s condo located in Covered Bridge.  The items were taken from the unlocked enclosed porch.  Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.

 Incident 2012-2860 - Vehicle Fire

 On Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1040 am Ptl. Dominick Donatelli and Ptl. Joseph DeFilippis responded to Medford Court located in the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan Township for a report of a vehicle fire. Gordon’s Corner Fire Department, EMFAS and Fire Marshal Michael Lennox responded to the scene. The investigation revealed that the cause of the vehicle fire was accidental and started in the engine compartment due to a mechanical  malfunction.

 Incident 2012-2829 - Credit Card Fraud

 This agency is investigating a credit card fraud incident which took place over the span of a week from 02-06-12 through 02-13-12.  A 56 yr old township resident had their Citi Card accessed online and had in excess of $20,000.00 charged.  The credit card reversed the charges and closed the account prior to the report being filed.  The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Anthony Cascella #126

 Incident 2012-2848 - Theft

 On 02/16/12 at 5:42 am the Citgo Gas Station on Rt. 33 West reported that a male subject identified as, left the scene after his credit card was denied and he failed to pay $53.55 for gas.  He was located at his Manalapan residence and responded back to the scene to pay the debt. This incident was investigated by Ptl. Matthew Mattia  #132

 Incident 2012-2824 - Shoplifting

 CVS located at 120 Woodward Road reported on 02/15/2012 that a male suspect shoplifted multiple razors from their store on 02/03/2012 at approximately 7:45 pm, and again on 02/15/2012 at approximately 635 pm.  It is estimated that approximately $2000 in razors were stolen. This incidents and it is currently being investigated by Ptl. Eric Voorand #133.

 Incident 2012-2721 - Theft of Services

 On 2/14/2012 at 1035 am a police report and criminal complaint was filed on behalf of a Earth Effects Landscaping Company located in Howell, NJ for theft of $825.00 worth of services.  The report was taken by Ptl. Georg Heitz where Craig Shapiro, white male formally of Crystal Court in Manalapan is charged with theft of services for failing to pay for yard work that had been completed at the Manalapan property.

 Incident 2012-2731 - Identity Theft

On Tuesday 02/14/2012 Officer George Heitz met with a Wood Avenue resident who advised that someone has been using his identity, specifically his name and social security number in California.  The victim related that he received information from the California Division of Taxation that brought the incident to his attention.  A report was filed and forwarded to California.

 Incident 2012-2734 - Motor Vehicle Collision

On Tuesday, 02/14/2012 at approximately 1:50 pm Ptl. Kevin McIntosh, Ptl. Ross Dessel and Sgt. Edward Niesz responded to the Figaro II Barbershop located on  Union Hill Rd. for a report that someone had driven their vehicle into the building.  The building sustained some structural damage, however was deemed safe by the Manalapan Twp. Building and Construction Department.  The driver, 57 year old, male Marlboro resident was issued a summons for careless driving

 Incident 2012-2762 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 02/14/12, while on patrol on Rt 537 Road, a tan Ford was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver Domingo Mendez a 56 year old Asbury Park resident (Married, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $89.00 dollars out of Asbury Park.  He was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.  Ptl.  Incident 2012- 2760 - Theft

 On 02/14/2012, a 41 year old Manalapan resident reported that her 15 year old son’s I-phone valued at $600.00 and $6 cash had been removed from his bag while he was playing soccer at the Recreation soccer field.  The suspects are male and in their mid 20’s. One is a white male who was wearing a blue shirt and white shorts.  The second was a Hispanic male wearing a black sweatshirt and black shorts.  The suspects left the area in a black pick-up truck, possibly a Honda, sometime between 400 - 520pm.  This incident was investigated by Ptl. Jason Vigneault #134.

Incident 2012-2700 - Harassment

On 02/13/12, a 28 year old female Manalapan resident reported that an unknown subject put up a Craig’s List ad with her information on it requesting people to contact her via cell phone.  The victim did not wish to pursue the incident at this time.  They were advised how to file a criminal complaint.  Ptl. Bart Mattaliano took the report.

Incident 2012-2636 - MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 02/12/12, while on patrol on Smithburg Road, a sliver jeep bearing was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The passenger William Clare a 19 year old Manalapan resident (single, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $164.00 dollars out of Manalapan Twp.  He was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.  Ptl. Bart Mattaliano was the arresting officer. 

 Incident #2012-2621 - Warrant Arrest

 On 02/12/12 at 1332 hours, during an investigation into suspicious activity at the Yorktown Shopping Center located on Gordon’s Corner Road, 22 year old Gregory L. Pelissier (single, unemployed, black male) of Bloomfield was found to have two warrants out for his arrest.  A $5000 warrant was issued out of Newark and a $982 warrant was issued out of Mount Olive Township.  Pelissier was arrested and released on his own recognizance as per the above agencies.  Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik was the arresting officer.     

Incident 2012-2526 – Simple Assault

On 02/11/12 at 335 pm this agency handled a verbal altercation between male and female in the parking lot of Stop & Shop.  Male reported that he was attempting to cross the road when he was almost struck by female’s vehicle.  They then began to have verbal dispute and both alleged that they were assaulted during verbal dispute.  Both advised they wanted incident documented. Case is pending complaints. Incident handled by Ptl. Daniel Carey.

Incident 2012-2580 – DWI/MVC

On 02/11/12 at 829 pm this agency responded to area of Highland Dr and Willow Grove Way for report of vehicle off the roadway.  Vehicle was located and driver (Michael F. Karabin 2nd, 37 years Old, Single- Self Employed W/M) was found to be operating motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Driver was also found to have outstanding warrant out of Madison Twp. Driver was arrested and processed.  Posted bail on outstanding warrant and was released to adult male.  Ptl. Dan Carey was arresting officer.

Incident 2012-2584 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 02/11/12, while on patrol on Smithburg Road, a blue Hyundai was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver Michael Sheppard Jr. a 20 year old Jackson resident (single, unemployed, W/M) was found to have an outstanding warrant for $257.00 dollars out of Jackson Twp.  He was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.  Ptl. Bart Mattaliano was the arresting officer. 

Incident 2012-02524 – Burglary/Theft

 On 02/10/12 at 7:46pm a 34 year old male Manalapan resident reported two pieces of farm equipment were removed from his property on Dey Grove Rd.  The items were described as a John Deere Hay Baler and a Pequea Hay Tedder and were valued at $5,500.00.  Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.

 Incident 2012-2496 – Bad Checks

 On 02/10/12 at 1039 am, a 55 year old Marlboro resident responded to police headquarters for a bad check complaint.  The victim related that he provided a $1500.00 advance on dental work that was not performed.  The victim received two refund checks from the dentist and both were declined due to insufficient funds. The victim has only received $200.00 in reimbursement at this time.  The victim has signed a criminal complaint and this case is pending court.  Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.

Incident 2012-2473 - DWI

 On 02/10/12 at 1255 am, Ptl. William Dutton conducted a motor vehicle stop on US Hwy 9 South near Symmes Dr on a brown Honda CR-V for a motor vehicle violation.  The operator, Daniel Spadacinni; married, white male, age 47, of Millstone Twp., was found to be DWI.  Mr. Spadacinni was arrested and transported to MTPD where he was processed and released into the custody of his wife.  He was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Unclear Plates.

 Incident 2012-2440- Harassment

 On 02/09/12 at 1:04 pm a 46 year old female Manalapan resident reported that a friend of hers has been sending her harassing text messages via cell phone for the past few weeks.  The victim did not wish to pursue the incident at this time.  They were advised how to file a criminal complaint.  Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.

 Incident 2012-2437 Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision

 On 02/09/12, at approximately 1200 noon, an unknown white colored vehicle crashed into a parked car on Yorktown Drive, and left the scene without reporting the incident. The white colored vehicle should have driver’s side front end damage and headlight damage. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage to the entire driver’s side.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Ptl Robert Kelly at 732-446-4300.

 Incident 2012-2400 DWI/Motor Vehicle Collision

 On 02/08/12 at approximately 7:04 pm hours a vehicle operated by Shari Filiano, 48 y/o w/f, Gordon’s Corner Rd., Manalapan, NJ, collided with a parked Manalapan Township Police Vehicle which was parked with its emergency lights on near the entrance of Yorktown Center on Gordon’s Corner Rd.  Ptl. Jason Vigneault was investigating another motor vehicle collision when the incident occurred.  Nobody was injured during the incident.  Shari Filiano was found to be driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.  She was placed under arrest by Ptl. Edward Hedden, processed and charged with DWI and careless driving.  Sgt. Dobbin is handling the accident investigation.  Blood alcohol results are pending. 

 Incident 2012-2395 - MVC

 On 02/08/12 at 5:08pm patrols responded to a head on motor vehicle collision on Smithburg Rd. near Grandview Lane.  Manalapan Twp. Fire Department, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, and Capital Health Paramedics also responded.  The drivers of both vehicles, a 53 year old Jackson woman and a 25 year old Hightstown woman, were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center with leg injuries.  The roadway was closed to traffic for approximately one hour.  Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.

 Incident 2012-2360 - PUBLIC INFORMATION -  PHONE SCAM

On 02/08/2012 11:29:35 AM Patrolman Kevin McIntosh responded Covered Bridge and spoke with the resident who related that over the past two weeks she has been receiving telephone calls from a man who identifies himself as Alex Jordan.  Jordan told the resident that he works for her health insurer and they are changing her card number.  He told her in order to do so she needed to provide him with the bank and account number associated with her social security check.  Jordan called everyday for two weeks until the township resident relented and provided him with the bank and account number.  After hanging up the resident had second thoughts and contacted her bank which froze the account.  Thankfully there was never any monetary loss suffered by the victim.  Ptl. McIntosh called the telephone number that the alleged suspect, Alex Jordan provided and it came back to a adult entertainment hot line.  A representative from the victim’s health insurer was contacted and advised that they are not aware of any card changes and any such business would be conducted by mail.  Manalapan Police would like to take this opportunity to remind its residents to verify the validity of anyone who would ask for your personal information especially bank account and Social Security numbers and never give out personal information over the phone.

 Incident 2012-2332 – Criminal Mischief

 On Tuesday, 02/07/12, the victim (20 year old, Jackson resident, Female) reported that unknown actor(s) damaged a tree stand that is used for hunting. The victim observed that the ladder had been damaged. Also, paintballs had been shot at the tree stand. The incident took placed between Sunday, 02/05/12, at approximately 1130 pm and Tuesday, 02/07/12, at approximately 320 pm. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.

Incident 2012-2333 – Theft

 On Tuesday, 02/07/12, the victim reported that unknown actor(s) entered her vehicle while it was parked in the Wegman’s parking lot. The victim related that her purse was removed from the vehicle. The victim further related that the purse contained an Apple I-pad and a Bluetooth. Also, a Garmin Nuvi GPS unit was taken. The incident took place between 545 pm and 615 pm. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.

Incident 2012-2289 – Credit Card Fraud

On Monday, 02/06/12, this agency opened an investigation into an alleged credit card fraud. The incident was initially reported to the Kernersville, NC Police Department which alleged that the victim’s debit card was fraudulently used on 01/23/12 in the Wegman’s in Manalapan, NJ to make a $344.58 purchase. Upon obtaining surveillance video of the suspects, an investigation was opened within this agency. The case is being investigated by Ptl. Michael Hoppock

Incident 2012-2282 - Shoplifting

On Monday, 02/06/12, this agency responded to Sprint (US Highway 9, Manalapan, NJ) in reference to a shoplifting that took place. It was determined that at approximately 530 pm a black male, short hair, clean shaven, approximately 20 YOA, wearing a white jacket/jeans entered the store and removed a white iphone 4s from the display. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect had attempted to remove an iphone from Best Buy several minutes earlier. The suspect left the area in a newer model black Ford Mustang. This case is being investigated by Patrolman Jared Aronson.

Incident 2012-2183 – Criminal Mischief

 On Saturday, 02-04-12, a female 61 year old Marlboro resident responded to this agency to report criminal mischief and harassment.  The victim related that an unknown white male actor scratched the side of her vehicle and later called her a derogatory name in the Wegmans parking lot.  The incident occurred on this date at 2:50 pm.  Ptl. Jeff Emslie is currently investigating the incident. 

 Incident 2012-2176 – Burglary/Theft

 On Saturday, 02-04-12, a white/male Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) burglarized his enclosed trailer.  Initial investigation revealed that the unknown actor(s) had gained access to the trailer through a cut pad lock on the rear access door.  Multiple tools were removed from the trailer.  Ptl. Bart Mattaliano is currently investigating.

 Incident 2012-2134 - Theft

 On Friday, February 3, 2012 at 518 pm a 36yr old male Holmdel resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that someone used his Monmouth County Library card to take out 60 DVD movies from the Monmouth County Library over several days in November 2011 and has yet to return any of them.  Ptl. Brian Cruse is investigating.

 Incident 2012-2118 – Burglary/Theft

 On Friday, February 03, 2012 at 153 pm a white female Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor had burglarized her residence on Taylor Mills Road. Initial investigation revealed that the unknown actor had gained access to the residence through the bathroom window and removed multiple items from the residence. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. took the report. Det. Charles Alaimo is investigating the incident.

 Incident 2012-2080 – Credit Card Fraud

 This agency is investigating an alleged credit card fraud incident that took place sometime on 1-29-12.  A 60 yoa, male resident alleges an unknown subject gained access to his credit card and charged in excess of $1400.00 worth of computer equipment online.  The charges were subsequently frozen due to suspicious activity.  The case is pending investigation by Ptl. Anthony Cascella.

Incident 2012-2056 – Motor Vehicle Accident

On Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1322 hours patrols responded to a one car (car vs. pole) motor vehicle collision on Route 522, Manalapan. Investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, a white male Monroe Twp. resident, was attempting to use his GPS when he observed that another vehicle had stopped in front of him, yielding to on coming traffic to make a left turn into a local business, he swerved to the right hitting a utility pole breaking it in two places. The collision resulted in the electrical wires falling on top on the man’s work vehicle. JCP&L responded to the scene to shut down the power.  Manalapan – Englishtown First Aid Squad and Englishtown Fire Department responded to the scene and removed the driver. The driver did not sustain any life threatening injuries. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and for failure to wear his seatbelt. Route 522 was shut down for several hours while JCP&L and Verizon made repairs. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli Jr. handled the investigation

 Incident 2012-2053 - MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 02/02/2012, Thursday while on patrol Ptl. Seth Kreizman stopped a vehicle occupied by Alexander Pritsker 22 year old white male of English Club Dr, Englishtown, tennis pro. Pritsker was found to have an outstanding Warrant out of Manalapan, and he was arrested, processed and released after posting $164. bail.

Incident 2012-2044 – Identity Theft

 On Thursday, February 02, 2012 the victim, a white female resident, responded to this agency to report that an unknown actor had open an AT&T wireless account in her name. This report was taken by Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. and this incident is currently under investigation. The Manalapan Township Police Department would like to remind its residents to periodically check all accounts and be sure to shred all documents before discarding them. 

 Incident 2012-2014 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On Wednesday, 2/1/12, a black Corvette was stopped for motor vehicle violations. The driver, identified as Christian Richards (Old Queens Boulevard, Manalapan, NJ, 5/18/78,W/M, Operating Engineer, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Belmar, NJ. The driver posted bail and was released. The arrest was handled by Ptl. Jared Aronson.

 Incident 2012-1941 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 1-31-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver w/m John Kalapos (DOB 5-18-71, Unemployed) was found to have an outstanding Child support warrant for $5670.87 dollars out of Ocean County.  He was arrested, processed and Remanded to OCCI.  Case handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano.

 Incident 2012-1910 – Identity Theft/Credit Card Fraud

 On 1/31/12 at 335 pm ,w/f, Manalapan Business Owner, Union Hill Rd., came into headquarters and reported that unknown person(s) made six transactions using her business debit card.  The purchases were made out of state and one was made in Australia.  The total reported loss was $1192.74 case was handled by Ptl. Edward Hedden .

Incident 2012-1922 – MV Stop/Warrant Arrest

 On 1-31-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver w/m Mohammed Nasser (DOB 1-13-89, ) was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant for $114 dollars out of Jamesburg Boro.  He was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.  Case handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano.

 Incident 2012-591 - Suspended NJ Drivers License/Criminal Charge

 On 1-10-12, while on patrol a vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver w/m Edmund Kean (Manalapan resident) was found to be driving on a suspended NJ license.  He was issued two motor vehicle summonses one for driving while suspended and one for obstructed view.  It was later determined that Edmund was suspended for a DWI conviction.  He was later charged under NJ criminal statue for driving while suspended after a DWI conviction.  Case handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano and is currently pending court. 

Incident 2012-1819 - Possession of CDS (Heroin)

 On 01/30/12, at 12:08 am, Ptl Dennis O’Brien and Ptl Robert Herring responded to 5 Susan Court for a trespassing complaint. During the investigation, Brittany Vatovec, who resided at the address, was arrested for possession of heroin. Bail was set at $10,000.00.  The nineteen year old female also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hightstown Boro, NJ, in the amount of $833.00. Vatovec was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.  This case is pending court.

 Incident 2012-1859 - Burglary / Theft

 On 1-30-12, the business owner of Cranked Gym reported that approximately $2750 dollars worth of gym equipment was taken from the gym some time during the night of 1-29-12. This case is pending investigation and is being handled by Ptl. Bart Mattaliano

2012-1860 - Theft

 On 01/30/2012 A 42 year old township male from Coventry Court reported that his money clip containing various denominations of US currency totaling approximately $180 and various credit cards and identification was taken from his residence sometime a week earlier. Ptl. George Heitz took the report.

Incident 2012-1804 – DWI/Wanted person

On 01/29/12 at approximately 519 pm Joseph Sefack (155 Cross Slope Ct. Manalapan NJ 07726, white male 47 years old, single, employed at Danna Motors) was stopped for motor vehicle violation on Rt. 9 South in Manalapan.  He was later found to be DWI and driving with a suspended license.  He was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless, Careless, Suspended D.L., Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Inspect. The incident was handled by Ptl. Bryan Belardo and is pending court.  The subject was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Middlesex County Sheriffs in the amount of $7151.42. The suspect was turned over to Middlesex County Sheriff in default of bail.

 Incident 2012-1767 DWI

On 01/28/12 at approximately 1053pm a red Chevrolet Venture was stopped following a call about the vehicle being driven erratically. The vehicle, driven by Edward Blaszczyk (558 Union Hill Road, Morganville, NJ, Unemployed, Married, 54y/o, W/M), was located partially in a driveway and partially in the roadway on Union Hill Road. Blaszczyk was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest. Blaszczyk was also found to have an active traffic warrant out of Wall Twp. Blaszczyk was issued summonses for DWI, Open Container of Alcohol in a MV, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless, Careless, Obstructing Passage of MV, and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Blaszczyk was subsequently released ROR on both the Manalapan Twp charges and Wall Twp Warrant. Ptl. Michael Hoppock made the arrest.

 Incident 2012-1761 – Possession of CDS

On 01/28/12 at 7:35 pm Ptl. Bart Mattaliano stopped a vehicle on Smithburg Road for a motor vehicle violation. As a result of the stop a male passenger, Carl Morris, Lakewood, b/m, 28 yoa, unemployed, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. Morris also had an outstanding warrant out of Toms River for $1500.00 The driver, Tamara Caprio, Jamesburg, b/f, 30 yoa, unemployed, was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of marijuana in a mv. Both subjects were processed and released. Morris posted bail on his outstanding warrant.

 Incident 2012-1754 - Possession of CDS

On 01/28/12 at approximately 542 pm, Max Goldberg, 24 yoa, unemployed, single, Manalapan resident was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Union Hill Road and found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana. Ptl. Michael Hoppock made the arrest.

 Incident 2012-1725 - Receiving Stolen Property

On 01/28/12 James S. Garbowski 24 yoa, unemployed, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property (assorted power tools) after a victim of a burglary that occurred in Old Bridge Township noticed items belonging to him for sale while walking through Englishtown Auction. Patrolman Kevin McIntosh made the arrest with the assistance of Old Bridge Police Detectives.

 Incident 2012-1729 – Theft

On 01/28/2012 the victim, a 37 year old resident of Warwick Drive related that sometime during the overnight hours and unknown actor removed his mailbox and wooden post valued at approximately $100.00. Ptl. Robert Kelly took the report.

 Incident 2012-1712 – Residential Burglary

At 100 am on 01/28/12 a Livingston Lane resident (57 yoa female) contacted this agency to report a burglary of her residence. The victim advised that sometime between 630 pm and 1020 pm on Friday 01/27/2012 an unknown actor forcibly entered the residence through a rear window and ransacked the master bedroom. Taken was $170.00 in cash. Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill responded along with Detective Kevin Schmidt.

 Incident 2012- 1647 – Armed Robbery/Burglary

On 01/27/2012 At 0703 hours the victim, a 23 year old male resident of Manor Court, Manalapan contacted the police department and advised he had been the victim of an armed robbery. The victim related that at approximately 6:15 am he awoke to find two male suspects in his home who demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a knife. The suspects are identified as a white male, approximately 20-30 yoa, 5’6” and 175 pounds. Suspect 2 – black male, 20-25 yoa, 6’0” tall approximately 165 pounds. The suspect vehicle is described as a white 4 door with tinted windows and blue colored headlights. Proceeds from the robbery were between $150.00 and $200.00 in US currency. There were no injuries reported. Any persons with information are urged to contact the Manalapan Twp. Police Department at 732-446-4300. Detective Kevin Schmidt and Ptl. Robert Kelly are investigating this matter.

 Incident 2012-1549 - Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision

On 1-26-12 Thomas F. Bell was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended DL after a DWI.  His charges stem from an investigation of a hit and run accident that took place on 1-25-12 on Union Hill Rd.  Thomas was also charged with 4 outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.   Ptl. Anthony Cascella handled the investigation.

 Incident 2012-1601 - Shoplifting

On 213 pm on 01/26/12 Margaret Chan (42 yoa, asian female) of Jackson, NJ was apprehended by Target Loss Prevention and charged with shoplifting less than $200.00 worth of merchandise. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli, Jr. took the report.

 2012-1196  – Robbery Arrest

 On 01/25/2012 at approximately 315 pm as a result of an investigation the Manalapan Twp. Police Department arrested two subjects for the robbery and assault which occurred in the Target Department store on Friday, January 20th, 2012. Arrested was Berron West, 324 Oak Knoll Drive, Manalapan, 42yoa, b/m, unemployed. West was charged with robbery, simple assault, conspiracy to commit shoplifting and criminal attempted shoplifting. West was lodged in MCCI in default of $140,000 bail. Also arrested was Cortney Appelbaum, 324 Oak Knoll Drive, Manalapan, w/f, 32 yoa, unemployed – she was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting and criminal attempted shoplifting. Appelbaum was also lodged in MCCI in default of $80,000.00 bail. The pair originally attempted to shoplift approximately $700.00 worth of baby formula, diapers and clothing from the store. Detectives Leonard Maltese and Detective Thomas Mantle were assigned the investigation. Old Bridge Township Police also assisted. 

 Incident 2012-1551- Possession of CDS with Intent to distribute

 On 01/25/12 at approximately 6:00 pm white male juvenile from Marlboro Twp. was stopped for motor vehicle violation and found to be in possession of CDS, with intent to distribute. Money was seized in arrest of the juvenile. Juvenile was processed and released to parents. Ptl. Carey conducted Investigation.

 Incident 2012-1474 – Receiving Stolen Property

            On 01/24/12 this agency stopped a gray Ford Focus as a result of motor vehicle violations. It was determined that the vehicle’s license plates had been reported stolen out of Toms River, NJ. The driver, identified as Kizzie Morrison (19 Kingsbridge Avenue, Staten Island, NY, 10314) a black female of Staten Island, NY was arrested for receiving stolen property. The arrestee is employed at Derma Plastic Arts, Staten Island, NY as a Medical Assistant. Additionally, the driver was found to have two outstanding warrants out of Wall Township and Freehold Township. The driver posted bail and was released on summonses.  Ptl. Jared Aronson handled the investigation.

 Incident 2012-1483 – Fraud

 On 01/24/2012 the victim (86 year old female resident) reported that an unknown male subject contacted her and identified himself as her grandson. He convinced her that he was in jail in Canada and needed bail money. The victim wired $2012.00 through Western Union before learning she had been scammed. Ptl. Edward Hedden took the report.

Incident 2012-1471 – Attempted Burglary/Criminal Mischief

 On 01/24/2012 at 430 pm the victim reported that sometime between December 2011 and 01/24/2012 an unknown subject(s) broke a padlock from the shed of a residence on Edwards Lane.  Nothing was removed or disturbed from inside the shed.  Ptl. Bryan Belardo took the report.   

 2012-1303 – Harassment/Theft

On 01/21/12 a resident from Rockingham Ct. responded to police headquarters to file a report involving their landlord harassing them over rent that is due.  The harassment involved threatening text messages sent to the victims and the landlords showing up at the residence unannounced.  The victims further allege that the landlords removed a mini refrigerator valued at $200.00 from the residence.  This incident is being investigated by Ptl.  Brian Cruse  #104.

 2012-1233 – Harassment

On 01/20/12, a resident of Covered Bridge responded to this agency to file a report of harassment.  The victim related several of her neighbors continue to harass her when outside of her residence.  This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Brian Schank.

 2012-1109 – Criminal Mischief

 On Wednesday, 01/18/2012, a resident of Covered Bridge responded to this agency to report that sometime in the overnight hours of 01/17/12, her vehicle was keyed and a tire was punctured while it was parked in the building parking lot.  This incident is being investigated by Ptl. Jason Vigneault.

2012-1196 – 01/20/12 – Robbery/Shoplifting

 At approximately 1000 am, Target Loss Prevention employees attempted to detain a male suspect identified to be shoplifting.  The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, subsequently assaulted the loss prevention employee and fled the store on foot.  He was observed entering the passenger’s side of a gray sport utility vehicle being operated by a white female believed to be involved in the attempted shoplifting.  

No property was successfully removed from the store, however, 2 target employees sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation and were treated by Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad.  

 This incident does not appear to be related to prior reported incidents at the Target Store.

 Incident 2012-1251 – Theft by Unlawful Taking

 Between 1120 pm on 01/20/2012 and 1150 pm on 01/20/2012 unknown actor(s) removed a cell phone valued at approximately $600.00 from a purse located inside of a vehicle at the Battleground Country Club.  This incident is currently being investigated by Ptl. Matt Mattia.

Incident 2012-861 - Burglary Arrest

On January 19th 2012 as a result of his investigation Detective Charles Alaimo charged Patrick Dileo, 08-01-1990, w/m, 60 Maxwell Lane, Manalapan, with Burglary and theft to a residence on Fawn Run. The incident occurred on January 15, 2012. Dileo was processed and released without bail.

Incident 2012-861 – Burglary

At 300 am on Sunday 01/15/2011 patrols responded to Fawn Run for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival the actors had fled but were positively identified by the victim who observed one of the actors in his bedroom. Several items were removed from the residence but dropped at the scene. Ptl. William Dutton and Detective Charles Alaimo are investigating.

 Incident 12-882 - Robbery, Conspiracy, Aggravated Assault, Shoplifting

 On 01-15-12 at 1436 hrs Ptl. Richard Gallo responded to the Target Department Store located at 55 Rt. 9 south for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival it was learned that a male and female suspect attempted to shoplift $1,437.06 worth of baby formula from the store.  A Target loss prevention officer attempted stop the male suspect at the exit of the store at which time the suspect proceeded to assault the loss prevention officer.  The suspect then fled on foot towards Rt. 9 and possibly entered a blue in color Toyota Camry bearing a Virginia Registration. The loss prevention officer was transported to Centrasate Hospital and was treated for contusions, a broken finger and a sprained arm. This case is pending further investigation. 

 Incident 12-862 Hit and Run MVA

 On 1/15/12 at 415 am unknown vehicle/actor struck a parked car in front of 21 Bunker Hill Dr  and left the scene leaving behind red paint debris and broken glass. Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill is investigating.

Incident 2012-819 – Theft by Deception – Phone Scam

 On 1/14/2012 a 95 year old Manalapan female related that on 01/13/2012 she was contacted by a male suspect who identified himself as her grandson. The suspect related to the victim that he had been arrested in Barcelona Spain and needed money wired to him right away. The victim sent $2526.00 to the suspect in Barcelona before learning that she has been the victim of a scam. Ptl. Charles Mazzatto took the report.

Incident #s 2012-00803-00805 – Warrant Arrest

 On 01-14-12 at 910 am, Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky stopped a vehicle on Route 33 Westbound for a state law violation.  The operator of the vehicle, identified as 25 year old Belisario Mizhirumbay, 307 Delphine Street Floor 1, Philadelphia PA, was found to have three outstanding warrants.  Mizhirumbay was placed under arrest and posted a total of $1264.00 bail.

 Incident #2012-722 - Theft by Deception

 On 1/12/12 at 8:05 pm a Barrister Lane resident (27 year old female) related that on 01/03/12 an unknown actor submitted a false insurance claim using her personal  information and in doing so obtained an Iphone valued at $199 dollars, which was then delivered to Tallahassee, Florida.  Ptl. Jeff Emslie took the report.

 Incident #2012-0679 Criminal Mischief to a Motor Vehicle

 Sometime during the overnight hours on January 11, 2012, an unknown actor(s) slashed two tires valued at $500.00 on a 2001, GMC Yukon on Quail Court.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300, all information will be kept confidential.  Ptl.  Incident 2012-610 Defiant Trespass

 At 0750 am on 01/11/2012 patrols responded to the CVS pharmacy in reference to a trespasser who had been previously been warned not to enter the store or be on store property. The suspect, Stephen Rinaldi, (327 Hwy 33, 03/02/1960 w/m) was charged with defiant trespass. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded.

 Incident 2012-0551 Criminal Attempt – False Prescriptions

 On 01/10/2012 at 1220 hours Walgreen Pharmacy, 305 Hwy 33 reported that on 01/08/12 an unknown male actor entered the store and attempted to obtain 120 Oxycodone pills using a stole prescription. The on-duty pharmacist became suspicious and did not fill the prescription but was not able to verify the script was stolen until 01/10. Ptl. Robert Kelly took the report.  

 Incident #2012-0534 Stolen Motor vehicle

 Between 600 pm on 1/9/12 and 120 am on 1/10/12 unknown actor(s) stole a 2009 black Mercedes Benz Valued at $56,000.00 from a driveway on Molly Pitcher Dr.  The vehicle was left unlocked with the key inside.  Ptl. Kimberly Whitehill took the report.

 Incident #2012-521 Burglary of a Residence

Between 640 pm and 710 pm on 01/09/2012, an unknown actor(s) entered a residence located on Mohawk Lane and stole numerous pieces of gold, diamond, and silver jewelry from the residence.  It is estimated that over $10,000 in jewelry was taken.  There were no signs of forced entry. This case is being investigated by Ptl. Eric Voorand and the detective bureau. .

 Incident #2012-517 Forgery/ Theft

 On 01/09/2012 the victim reported that between 10/27/11 and 11/03/11, a female Englishtown resident allegedly took possession of two checks made out to her son, each in the amount of $700.00. The checks were rent payments on a property which the victim owns. The suspect proceeded to allegedly forge her son’s signature on the checks and cash them. The case is pending complaints by the victim. Ptl Michael Hoppock took the report.

Incident #2012-484 – Credit Card Fraud

 On 01/09/2012 the victim, 62 year old female resident, advised that an unknown actor used her American Express card to purchase $1174.00 from the home shopping network. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.

 Incident #2012-481 Burglary of a Vehicle

 Sometime during the overnight hours on Sunday, 01/08/12, an unknown subject entered an unlocked 2008 Jeep Wrangler that was parked in the driveway on Holiday Road and removed two pairs of sunglasses valued at $300.  Ptl. Charles Mazzato is investigating this incident. 

Incident 2012 -109/110 – Commercial Burglary

Sometime between 1200 noon on 12/24/2012 and 1100 am on 01/02/12 an unknown actor entered 2 storage sheds located at 333 Iron Ore road and removed construction equipment belonging to two separate victims. One victim had a gas powered saw and leaf blower removed valued at $1250.00 The second victim a nail gun, air compressor, and assorted drills valued at $400.00. There were no signs of forced entry and Ptl. Heitz took the report.

Incident 2012 –112 - Bad Checks

On 01/03/2012 at 1223 pm Wegman’s security personnel responded to headquarters to report that a known actor ( male, Millstone Resident) had passed 5 bad checks valued at $329.06 for goods purchased. This matter is pending criminal complaints – Ptl Richard Gallo took the report.

 Incident 2013–113 - Bad Checks

 On 01/03/2012 at 1223 pm Wegman’s security personnel responded to headquarters to report that a known actor (male, Pennsylania resident) had passed 11 bad checks valued at $708.62 for goods purchased. This matter is pending criminal complaints – Ptl Richard Gallo took the report.

Incident 2012-142 – Road Rage – Simple Assault

On 01/03/2012 at 650 pm Ptl. Jared Aronson responded to Symmes Drive for a reported simple assault stemming from a road rage incident. Upon arrival two parties, Manalapan male age 38 and Manalapan female age 48 were located in Monmouth County Library Lot. The male alleged that the female spit in his vehicle during the dispute and the female alleged that she was assaulted. This matter is pending citizen complaints.

  Incident 2012-147 – Residential Burglary

 Between 745 am and 730 pm on January 3, 2012 an unknown actor forcibly entered a Maxwell Lane residence and removed a safe containing assorted items. Ptl. Jared Aronson and Detective Leonard Maltese responded to investigate.

Incident #2012-0190-149 pm  Theft

 On January 4, 2012 a 52 year old Sutton Drive resident reported that an unknown actor(s) had removed his silver Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS and its accessories from his vehicle sometime between Saturday 12/24/11 and Saturday 12/31/11.  There was no evidence of forced entry into his vehicle. Incident #2012-0100-0828 am Possession of an Imitation Firearm

 On January 03, 2012 at 0828 hours the Manalapan Township Police Department received a phone call in reference to a suspicious male walking down State Hwy 33. The male was wearing all black clothing with a hood and dark sunglasses. The man was holding what appeared to be a shotgun. The subject was apprehended by Ptl. Chalfin and was in possession of three walking canes that were assembled together to resemble a firearm. The subject was arrested and subsequently charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm and Disorderly Conduct. The suspect was identified as Jorge Lage, Manalapan, Hispanic Male, 51 years of age, unemployed. This incident is pending court.

  Incident #2012-207- 613 am DWI

On 01/04/12 at 613 am Lori Lanzaro (50 year old female, unemployed, divorced) of Manalapan was stopped on Rt 9 North for a motor violation.  Lanzaro was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and a suspended driver’s license.  After further investigation, Lanzaro was then placed under arrest for DWI by Sgt Dobbin.  Lanzaro was released R.O.R and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Suspended D.L. and Suspended registration.  Case is pending court.

 Incident #2012-378 Burglary/theft

On 01-07-12 at 1108 hours, a 60 year old male resident of Manalapan Township reported that a snow blower and self-propelled lawnmower valued at $800.00 were removed from a storage shed in the rear of his Mercer Lane residence.  Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky took the report.  This case is pending investigation.

Incident #2012-409 Theft

 On 01/07/12 at 635 pm a male Manalapan Twp. resident advised various items (Manalapan Braves hoodie, girls jeans, men’s gym shorts, engraved jewelry box, woman’s rings, a silver locket, Ann Klein watch) were missing from his residence on Plymouth Lane.  Ptl. Bryan Belardo took the report. This case is pending investigation.

  Incident 2012-0448 – Criminal Mischief

 A resident of Shinnecock Drive reported to police that on 01/07/12 at 1105 pm his neighbor damaged his vehicle that was parked in the driveway by keying the driver’s side of the vehicle. The victim further related that the incident was video recorded. Ptl. Chalfin investigated and as a result of the video and investigation on 01/10/2012 Jerry Kossower, 57 year old white male, Shinnecock Drive, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief.  Incident 2011-24371 – Theft

 On 12/24/2011 the victim, a 45 year Manalapan male of Sweetman’s Lane reported that an unknown actor removed approximately $600.00 cash from his dresser drawer located in the master bedroom. The theft occurred between 5:00 pm on 12/22/2011 and 6:30 pm on 12/23/2011. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli took the report.

 Incident 2011-24373 - Theft of mail

On 12-24-11, a resident from 35 Blemheim Road observed a white male remove mail from her mailbox.  The area was canvassed by patrols with negative results.  The mail was valued at $2.50.  This case is pending investigation.

Incident 2011-24398 - Trespass

 On 12-24-11, patrols responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at an unoccupied residence on Deer Way.  After further investigation, the vehicle’s two occupants were former tenants of the residence.  Both occupants were advised that they were trespassing and not to return to the property.  Case closed.

Incident 2011-24326 – Harassment/Terroristic Threats

 On 12/23/2011 the victim, 53 year old Manalapan male, received a package delivered via the US postal service which contained the partials remains of a deceased cat along with a threatening note. This matter is pending investigation and is being handled by Ptl. Edward Hedden and Detective Leonard Maltese.

Incident 11-24329 - Identity theft

On 12/23/2011, a Oak Knoll resident received a call from his bank stating that an unknown male had cashed two $400.00 checks on his account.  The resident was further told that a third was attempted, but stopped by the bank.  The bank refunded the resident the money and froze all accounts.  This case will be investigated further by Chase Bank.

Incident 2011-24253 – Theft by Deception –  Peru Scam

 On 12-22-11 the victim reported that on 12-13-2011 he was contacted via phone by a suspect posing as his Grandson-in-law. The suspect advised the victim that he was in police custody in Peru. The suspect further advised that he needed $2873.00 wired immediately so his case could be processed more quickly by US embassy. The suspect also had an accomplice who identified himself as an attorney. The victim sent $3017.65 through a local Western Union office only to learn that he had been the victim of a scam. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.

Incident 2011-24211 – DWI

 On 12-22-11 at 0111 hours the suspect, Bartlomie Reinisz, 27 years of age, construction worker, single, residing in Englishtown, NJ was stopped for tailgating on Union Hill Road. As a result of stop he was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, tailgating and driving with an expired license. Ptl. Adam Sosnowski was the arresting officer.

Incident 11-24145 - Attempted burglary

 On 12/21/11, a resident of Pinecluster Circle, in the Covered Bridge Adult Community, reported that her screen door was cut and that an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry into her residence at approximately 4:40am on December 21.  The suspect was not successful and fled the scene prior to patrols arrival.  This case is pending investigation.

 Incident 11-24168 - Identity theft

 On 12/21/11, a Kimberly Court resident reported that an unknown actor gained access to her bank account information and made multiple on-line purchases, totaling over $1,250.  This case will be investigated by Sovereign Bank’s security department.

Incident 11-24119 - Harassment

 On 12/20/11 I responded to the lobby and spoke with the victim (42 yr. old Manalapan resident).  She alleges being harassed by her landlord, (49 yr old male Manalapan resident).   She also alleges he stole $250 from her residence.  This case is pending investigation.

 Incident #2011-23645 1734hrs - Kitchen Fire

On Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 5:34pm patrols responded to a Daum Rd residence, a single family residential house, for a report of a kitchen fire.  The fire started due to a cardboard box being placed on an electric stovetop that was accidentally left on.  The resident notified her next door neighbor, a retired FDNY member who extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher.  The damage was contained to the stove area in the kitchen.  No injuries were reported.  Englishtown and Manalapan Fire Companies, Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid, and the Monmouth County Fire Marshalls Office responded.  The fire was determined to be accidental. 

Incident #2011-23735 – Identity Theft

On 12/14/2011 the victim, a 54 year old female resident, reported that between November 28, 2011 and December 14, 2011 and unknown actor made unauthorized purchases totaling $3829.28 with her Wachovia credit card. Ptl. Dan Carey took the report.

Incident 2011-23626 – Theft 

On 12/13/2011 the victim, 51 year old male resident, reported that an unknown actor removed custom leather fog lamp covers from his Land Rover SUV valued at $250.00. The victim’s vehicle was parked on St. Andrews Place at the time of the theft, which occurred between 7:00 pm on 12/10/2011 and 7:00 am on 12/11/2011

 Incident 2011-23616 – Theft from Vehicle 

On 12/13/2011 the victim, a 43 year old female resident, reported that at approximately 8:30 am on 12/13/2011 an unknown actor removed her purse which contained assorted credit cards from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Manalapan Recreation Center. Ptl. Peter Chalfin took the report.  

Incident # 2011-23594 – Sexual Assault/EWC

As a result of an ongoing investigation the suspect, Jennifer Mahoney Becket Road, Manalapan, NJ, 32 years of age, waitress, single, was charged with Sexual Assault and Endangering the welfare of a child. Mahoney was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $250,000 bail. Detective Kevin Schmidt is the assigned to this matter 

Incident #2011-23283 Attempted Burglary

 

On December 8th, 2011 at 1331 hours, patrols responded to Darlington Drive for a report of a Burglary in progress.  The investigation revealed that a white female entered the residential home through an opened garage door.  The unknown female entered the main portion of the residence and proceeded up the stairs to the second floor when the unknown female encountered a resident of the house.  The suspect female saw the homeowner and ran out of the house.  The female was described as a white female, in her late 30’s to early 40’s, with dirty blonde hair, wearing white gloves, black leather jacket and dark pants. The suspect fled the area and Manalapan Police checked the surrounding areas with the assistance of a K9 unit from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.  During the incident, no one was injured and nothing was stolen from the house.  If anyone has any information concerning this incident, please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300 all information will be kept confidential. Incident #2011-23338 Attempted Theft by Deception

 

On 12/09/11, Patrols responded to a residence on Amberly Drive for a report of fraud. Investigation revealed that the resident there received notification in the mail that he had won a sweepstakes in the amount of $175,000. Enclosed with the letter was a money order in the amount of $2660.00, which the victim was instructed to deposit and wire the money to the Dominican Republic. After doing so, the victim was instructed to wire additional funds, at which point the victim became suspicious and contacted the police. Pending Investigation

 

Incident #2011-23390 Burglary/Theft/Criminal Mischief

 

On Friday, 12/9/11, this agency responded to a residence on Kensington Drive for a burglary report. Investigation revealed that unknown actor(s) had forcibly pried open a kitchen window and entered the residence. Once inside the residence the actor(s) removed assorted jewelry. This case is pending investigation. 

Incident #11-23423 Shoplifting

 

On Saturday 12/10/11 at approximately 1229 hours, patrols responded to HomeGoods on US Highway 9 for a report of a shoplifter.  Prior to patrols arrival, the shoplifter attempted to flee on foot.  Total value of the merchandise removed was $178.96.  Ptl. Herring located and arrested the shoplifter, F. Rinaudo of Staten Island, NY.  He was charged with shoplifting (under $200) and the merchandise was returned to HomeGoods.  This case is pending court. 

Incident #11-23462, Serious MVA

 

On Saturday 12/10/11 patrols responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle accident with injuries.  Investigation revealed that two people ages 18 and 20 were riding a Honda 4-wheeled ATV on Elkridge Way without helmets when the passenger fell off.  The fall caused the victim to suffer a serious head trauma.  The victim was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.The operator of the ATV was identified as Tara Delorenzo, 18, of Manalapan, NJ.  The victim is a female, 20, a citizen of Malaysia who is staying with family residing in Manalapan, NJ. Victim was described by medical staff as being in serious condition as of 2200 hours on 12/11/11. The following agencies responded to the scene: Manalapan Police Dept., Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, Gordon’s Corner Fire Co. and MONOC Paramedics. Charges have not been filed as of this date and the incident is being investigated by Ptl. Aronson and Ptl. Hedden of the Manalapan Township Police Dept.

 Incident 2011-23579 – Shoplifting 

On Monday 12/12/2011 at 6:45 pm patrols responded to Wegmans for a reported shoplifting. Suspect 1 identified as w/f late 30’s to early 40’s, short dark hair approximately 170-180 pounds. Suspect 2 identified as w/f, 40 to 50 yoa, short brown hair, glasses, 160-170 pounds. The suspects removed a significant quantity of health and beauty aids and baby formula. Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky responded.

 

Incident 2011-23484 – Attempted Burglary

 

Between 5:00pm on 12/10/2011 and 8:00 am on 12/11/2011 an unknown actor(s) attempted to break into the concession stand located in the Manalapan Recreation Center. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded.

Incident 2011-23431 – Identity Theft 

A 52 year old male resident reported that on 12/10/11 that an unknown actor made 29 charges to their Sovereign Bank account for unauthorized online purchases totaling $718.22. The purchases occurred between November 30, 2011 and December 2, 2011.  Ptl. Herring took the report.

 

Incident 2011-23419 – Theft

 

On 12/10/2011 the victim, a 37 year old male resident, advised that he purchased gold online and never received the gold. The value of the gold was $8600.00 and the incident occurred on November 16, 2011. Ptl. Michael Hoppock took the report

 

Incident 2011-23388 – Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute

 

As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Cedar Court, Sherif Michael, 31 yoa, w/m, manager employed by Mixed Greens of Manalapan, single, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute. Michaels was processed and released without bail, Ptl. Daniel Carey was the arresting officer.  

Incident #2011-23049  (Armed Robbery - Gunpoint)

On 12/04/2011 at 2047hrs patrols responded 232 Smithburg Rd. for a report of an attempted armed robbery.  Investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect placed an order with the Golden Star Chinese Restaurant located in Freehold, NJ for food to be delivered to the St. James AME church located on Smithburg Rd.  When the delivery person arrived at the location an unknown male suspect, wearing gloves, a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and a mask, appeared and brandished a handgun and ordered the delivery person to drop the food and his money.  The delivery person left the food and after a brief struggle was able to get back in his car and drive away before the suspect could get any money from him.  The suspect then left the area on foot with the food.  No injuries were reported.  Pending Investigation.

Incident #2011-22623 (Fraud)

On Monday 11-28-11 a 65 year old resident reported a fraud and theft to this agency.  She related that on this date she was contacted by a suspect identifying themselves as a police officer.  The suspect stated that her nephew was under arrest for drug trafficking in northern New Jersey and she needed to wire money to bail him out.  The caller knew the victim’s nephew’s name and there exact relation so the victim wired $2500.00 to the suspect believing her nephew was in trouble.  She later learned that her nephew was safe at home and she had been the victim of a fraud.  This agency has seen an increase in these reported scams.  Often the caller will know detailed information about the victim.  This agency in asking it’s resident to be cautious and vigilant in detecting these scams and to look into the matter before wiring any money.  They are often originating, or phoned in, from in different countries.  This incident was handled by Ptl. Jeff Emslie #116.

Incident #11-22644 (Motor Vehicle Collision)

On the 29th of November 2011 at approximately 2:55:49 AM Patrolman Schank, assisted by Officers Mattia and Joiner responded code 3 to location for a motor vehicle crash, car vs pole.  Upon arrival, investigation revealed that Vehicle 1 struck a utility pole (JC 87 MPN) on Tennent Road.  There was minimal damage to the utility pole.  No injuries were reported.  However the vehicle sustained damage and had to be towed from the scene.  The driver was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain lane.  A collision report was completed Vehicle 1 (NJ) ZKD11S - Owner / Operator.

Incident #11-22645 (Warrant Arrest)

On Tuesday the 29th  of November 2011 at approximately 0300 hours Patrolman Steven Turner and Patrolman Mathew Mattia Arrested T. Stephens of Newark, N.J. on an Outstanding Warrant Issued out of Manalapan Municipal Court from April 2011.  The Arrestee was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of bail.

Incident #11-22863 (Vehicle Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief)

On Friday, December 2, 2011 at approximately 0720 hours Patrolman Herring responded to a residence on Demarest Drive for a report of a vehicle burglary.  The passenger side window was smashed and the following items were removed – Radar Detector, Gucci Wallet, JanSport Backpack, Two North Face Jackets.  This case is pending further investigation.

Incident #11-22938 (Hit & Run)

On Saturday, December 3, 2011 at approximately 0112 hours Patrolman Herring responded to the area of Millhurst Road for a report of an erratic driver.  During the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver, a resident of Manalapan, struck an occupied vehicle on Millhurst Road and fled the scene.  He was issued summonses for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report an Accident and Failure to Maintain Lane.  A crash report was completed.  This case is pending court.


INCIDENT #2011-22568 (Robbery – Gunpoint)

On Monday, November 28, 2011, at approximately 1:00am, an unknown actor robbed the CVS on Woodward Road at gunpoint.  The actor is described as a white male who stands approximately 6’2” tall.  He wore a navy blue sweat shirt with a hood, a black ski mask, black gloves and reflective sunglasses.  After being threatened with a handgun and thrown a small bag, the cashier turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  Patrolman Turner initiated the investigation.  Detective Schmidt processed the scene and a K-9 unit was provided by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

INCIDENT #2011-22238 (Burglary / Theft)

A black laptop bag containing an IPad and umbrella was allegedly taken from trunk of the victim’s vehicle between 11/21/2011 at approximately 0700 hrs and 11/22/2011 at approximately 2042 hrs.  The victim related that he locked his doors but there were no signs of forced entry.  This incident is currently being investigated by Ptl. Voorand #133.

INCIDENT #2011-22327 (DWI)

On 11/23/11 Ptl. Brian Cruse and Ptl. Mattaliano responded to the area of Wilson Ave for a report of a suspicious vehicle driving erratically.  The vehicle was located on Wilson Ave turning onto Union Hill Rd.  The vehicle was stopped on Union Hill Rd. and the driver, Christopher Miller of Manalapan, was found to be DWI.  He was arrested and brought to headquarters where he was processed and issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Improper Passing.  Pending Court.

INCIDENT  #2011-22375 (Attempted Suicide)

On 11/24/2011, Ptl. Aronson and Ptl. Vigneault responded for a report of a woman unconscious but breathing.  Upon arrival, A township resident was treated by patrols and then MON-OC unit 208.  During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that A township resident tried to commit suicide by taking numerous pills and drinking a bottle of wine.  The township resident was stabilized and transported to Centra State Hospital by MON-OC.

INCIDENT #2011-22043 (Attempted Suicide)

On 11/19/2011, Ptl. Cascella and Ptl. Hedden responded to a report of a suicidal/homicidal resident with a gun within his residence.  Prior to patrol’s arrival, the subject retreated to the basement and single gun shot was heard by a witness.  After carefully securing the area and bystanders, patrol officers found the subject alive.  He was transported to Centra State Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. 

INCIDENT #11-22460 (Criminal Mischief / Theft)

On Saturday morning the 26th of November at approximately 0500 hours the theft of and destruction of waste oil, and the container which it was in were reported to this agency by a representative of Darling International.  The incident was reported to have happened in the Towne Point Shopping Center located on Route 9 within this municipality.  Officer Mattia had identified suspects earlier on this date and charges are expected to be filed against the suspects in this incident for theft and criminal mischief pending further information.

INCIDENT #2011- 22514 (Theft)

On Saturday, 11/26/2011, a set of keys were removed from the counter of a pizzeria between 2100 and 2200hrs.  It is believed that the keys were taken by a black man and white woman who were the only customers to enter the store during the time frame.

The man is described as a black male, about 5-08, about 200lbs., late 30’s, bald, glasses, brown leather jacket, and dark pants.  The female was described as a white woman, about 5-04, heavy set, blondish shoulder length hair. This incident was handled by Ptl. Vigneault

Incident #11-22435 (Residential Burglary)

On Friday, November 25, 2011, at approximately 8:45pm, an unknown actor forcibly entered a residence on Molly Pitcher Drive through a rear window.  It appears that an audible house alarm deterred the intruders immediately after entry was made.  Patrolman Aronson responded to the scene along with Detective Mantle.   This matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

Incident #11-22439 (Residential Burglary)

On Friday, November 25, 2011, between 5:00pm and 9:00pm, an unknown actor forcibly entered a residence on Eliot Road through a ground level bathroom window.  Several thousands of dollars of items were taken from the residence.  Patrolman Hedden responded to the scene along with Detective Mantle.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

Incident #2011-22235 (Residential Burglary)

On Friday, November 22, 2011, between 10:00am and 7:00pm, an unknown actor entered a residence on Oak Knoll Drive through an unsecured garage door.  Several thousands of dollars of items were taken from the residence.  Patrolman Mazzatto responded to the scene along with Detective Mantle.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

Incident #2011-22460 (Theft)

On Saturday, November 26, 2011, at approximately 2:30am, two known subjects removed more than one hundred gallons of cooking oil from a secure oil tank located behind Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the Summerton Plaza.  This matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

Incident #2011-22318 (Shoplifting)

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 5:00pm, Jeanna Tsilevich (37yr, white, female from Manalapan), was arrested for shoplifting about $150 worth of alcohol from Wegmans. 

Incident #2011-22317 (Shoplifting)

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 5:00pm, Andy Chiang (38yr, Asian, male from Jersey City), was arrested for shoplifting about $250 worth of food from Wegmans. 

Incident #2011-22334 (Drug Arrest - Marijuana)

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 11:00pm, during a motor vehicle stop with Patrolman Hedden, Brianna Zester (18yr, white, female from Manalapan) was arrested for being in the possession of a rolled marijuana cigar.    

Incident #2011-22233 (Drug Arrest - Cocaine)

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at approximately 5:30pm, Patrolman Carey responded to a residence on Adams Court for a dispute between parents and daughter.  During the investigation, Lea Dorfschneider (19yr, white, female from Manalapan) was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.  Dorfschneider was arrested and processed by Patrolman Carey.

INCIDENT #2011-22327 (DWI)

On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at approximately 10:30pm, Christopher Miller (36yr, white, male from Manalapan) was arrested for DWI by Patrolman Cruse after being stopped for numerous motor vehicle violations.

INCIDENT  #11-21908 (Criminal Sexual Contact)

A resident of Phoenix Arizona contacted this agency to report an act of criminal sexual contact that occurred approximately 30 years ago in or around Manalapan Township.  The victim reported that when he was approximately 13 years old, and living in this area, an unknown camp counselor touched him inappropriately.  This case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

INCIDENT #11-21814 (Endangering The Welfare Of A Child)

On Monday November 7, 2011, a resident 13 year old made allegations that her step father held her at gun point and forcibly raped her.  The family, including a younger sister, and witnesses were interviewed by both members of the Detective Bureau and the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS).  This incident was determined to be unfounded.   

INCIDENT #11-21932 (Residential Burglary)

On Friday November 11, 2011, unknown subjects burglarized a residence on Newport Drive.  Patrolman Vigneault responded to the scene and found a rear window that had been pried open and the interior of the residence had been ransacked.  Approximately $22,000 worth of items were stolen from the residence.  The investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

INCIDENT #11-21883 (Fraud / Theft)

 On Thursday November 17, 2011, an unknown suspect withdrew money from the checking account of a township resident.  The suspect withdrew approximately $800 using local ATM machines over the period of several days.  The victim related that he still in possession of all of his credit and ATM cards.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up. 

 INCIDENT #11-22107 (Commercial Burglary)

 On Sunday November 20, 2011, unknown subjects broke into Mr. Tire on Route 9 South in Manalapan.  The suspects entered through a broken window and forcibly removed the business’ safe which had been bolted to the floor.  Patrolmen Emslie and Hedden responded to the scene.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

 

INCIDENT #11-21892 (Pick Pocket)

On Thursday November 17, 2011, an unknown person removed a Marlboro resident's wallet from her purse while she was shopping at Wegmans between 12:00 and 1:30p.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up. 

INCIDENT #11-21375 (Identity Theft)

A resident on Devon Drive North discovered that an unknown person used her social security number to open credit accounts.  Her most recent credit report showed a ficticious Sprint Mobile account with a balance of more than $2,000.  Additionally, there is a civil claim judgement from the Queens Borough Civil Court in New York City also in excess of $2,000.  This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.  

INCIDENT  #11-23062 (Criminal Mischief)

On Sunday early morning hours, patrols were advised that a vehicle was reportedly driving around the area of Tennent Rd. and was throwing eggs out of the moving vehicle.  At approximately 0100 hours Officer Whitehill took a report from someone claiming that there vehicle had been struck by an egg as he was at the intersection of Taylor Mills Rd. and Tennent Rd.  A short time later Officer Whitehill conducted a motor vehicle stop of the suspect vehicle.  The vehicle matched the description from aforementioned victim.  The vehicle was occupied by three young men, they were in possession of an empty egg carton and admitted to having thrown eggs out of their moving vehicle.  They were issued a summons and the victim was advised of their apprehension/identification should he wish to pursue the matter; Officer Whitehill was assisted by Patrolman Mattia.

Incident #11-22065 (State Law Violation & Contempt)

 

On Sunday the 20th of November at approximately 0130 hours Patrolman Herring working a patrol detail stopped Mark Soliman of Parlin for a motor vehicle violation in the area of Route 9.  In the process he was found to have a suspended New Jersey Drivers License and also he had an outstanding Warrant out of Old Bridge Township.  He was arrested and processed before being released after posting bail.

Incident #11-22023 (Simple Assault)

On Saturday November 19th 2011 at approximately 13:15 hours Patrolman Herring and Patrolman Cascella responded to the Englishtown Auction Sales located on Wilson Avenue, and Sobecko Rd. where they were working a “Plain Clothes security detail.  While on this assignment they responded to a reported Assault that had occurred.  The subjects were located and identified.  They were identified as a vendor at the auction versus a customer of the auction.  The parties had conflicting accounts of what had transpired, and no injuries were noted to either party.  Neither person wished to pursue the matter criminally; they were advised of the procedure to further pursue charges for the incident. Patrols then cleared the scene.

Incident #11-22063 (State Law Violation)

On Sunday 11/20/2011 at approximately 0100 hours Patrolman Curran working patrol stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation in the area of Pease Road.  The driver J. Harris of Lakewood was found to have a suspended New Jersey Drivers License.  He was issued Motor Vehicle Summons’ and released pending Municipal Court.

Incident #11-22172  (Suspicious Activity)

On Monday, 21st November 2011 at approximately 1815 hours Officer Cascella and Officer Cruse responded to the area of Rifkin Farms on a report of strange lights circling in the air in the area of the neighborhood causing residents concern.  Officers responded and investigated.  The lights were determined to be that of a reflection from aerial lights associated with a new business that is located in the on Rt. 9 in freehold and their light display that had been set up to advertise the grand opening.

Incident #11-22174 (Shoplifting  / Assist Other)

On Monday, November 21st 2011 at approximately 2000 hours Target Loss Prevention apprehended a female shoplifter who attempted to leave their Department Store with several items concealed on her person valued at approximately $136.00.  Ptl Aronson arrived and arrested the subject who was then transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending court.  Ptl. Aronson was assisted by Ptl. Ruditsky.

Incident #11-22169 (Motor Vehicle Collision Report)

On Monday, 21st November 2011 at approximately 1800 hours Patrolman Jeff Emslie responded to the Manalapan Township High School for a report of a motor vehicle collision, hit and run.  Reported was that a parked vehicle was struck by another moving vehicle.  The caller related that the vehicle had left the scene.  Upon his arrival at the school Patrolman Emslie located all of the parties involved and that the driver actually had not left the scene.  Collision report taken and all parties were identified, damage was minor, no injuries.

INCIDENT #11-21559 (Attempted Auto Thefts)

Sometime between 6:15p on 11/11/2011 and 10:00a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors attempted to steal two motor vehicles (both 2010 Infinity G37s) that were parked in driveways on Winged Foot Drive.  Both vehicles had their driver's side door locks damaged in the attmept. 

INCIDENT #11-21562 (Vehicle Burglaries)

Sometime between 6:00p on 11/11/2011 and 11:30a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors entered a vehicle that was parked in a driveway on Alexandria Drive.  Taken from the unlocked vehicle was a GPS unit, cologne, and two dollars in cash. 

 

During the same time frame, another unlocked vehicle was entered on Belle Terre Drive.  Taken from that vehicle were two cell phone chargers and a GPS unit.

INCIDENT #11-21570 (Residential Burglary)

Sometime between 1:00p on 11/11/2011 and 9:00a on 11/12/2011, unknown actors entered a residence on Longstreet Road through a sliding rear door.  The residence was ransacked.  This case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation. 


INCIDENT #11-21392 (Residential Burglary)

 On Wednesday 11/09/2011 between the hours of 11:30a and 5:00p, unknown actors entered a residence on Pension Road by smashed through a master bedroom window.  The residence was ransacked and several thousand dollars worth of valuables were taken.  The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

INCIDENT #11-21344 (Disturbance)

On Wednesday 11/09/2011 at approximately 0200 hours Officer O’Brien responded to Regal Rd. for a report of a man banging on the front door of a residence and screaming.  He was assisted by Officer’s Turner, and Whitehill.  Upon patrols arrival the man was identified as a friend of a resident inside the home who claimed he was owed money.  The subject was removed and the occupants of the home were advised of the procedure for filing a criminal complaint.

INCIDENT #11-21339 (Suspicious Vehicle)

On Wednesday 11/09/2011 at approximately 0015 hours Officer Whitehill responded to the Exxon Gas Station located on State Highway Route 9 North in the township for a reported suspicious vehicle.  She was assisted once on scene by Ptl. Schank.  Upon their arrival they located the vehicle which had been reported as suspicious.  The driver and occupant were identified, they were then issued summons for driving while suspended and littering.  They were allowed to leave the scene when a parent and valid owner/driver responded to the scene.

INCIDENT #11021416 (Criminal Mischief)

On Thursday 11-10-2011 at approximately 0656 hours Officer Herring responded to 285 Gordons Corner Road for a report of a shattered rear window on a vehicle.  The victim advised that she was attending a fitness class from 0550 hour to 0650 hours and when she arrived back to her vehicle, she observed the shattered rear window.  No items were removed from the victim’s vehicle.  There are currently no suspects.

INCIDENT #11-21510 (Recovered Stolen Vehicle)

On Friday 11/11/2011 at approximately 1606hrs Ptl. Vigneault responded to the Best Buy parking lot for a report of a recovered stolen vehicle.  A representative from Sunbelt Rental was on scene and related that the JLG scissor lift had been removed from BJ’s Wholesale in Old Bridge, NJ about two weeks ago.  Old Bridge Police Dept. gave this agency permission to release the lift to Sunbelt Rental and the lift was removed.

INCIDENT #2011-21532 (Criminal Mischief)

On Friday 11/11/2011 at approximately 2130 hours I responded to the area of St. Andrews Place in reference to a female subject keying vehicles.  Investigation led to the arrest of 62 year Frances Raniere of St. Andrews Place Manalapan NJ.  She was charged with criminal mischief, specifically for damaging 38 vehicles which were parked in the area.  Ptl. B. Belardo handled the investigation. 

Incident #11-21609 (Residential Burglary)

On Sunday 11/13/2011 Officers Hedden and Emslie, and Sgt, Niesz responded to a residence on Dancer Lane for a reported residential Burglary.  After checking the home and the surrounding area it appears that the alleged incident had occurred sometime on this date between the hours of 3:30 and 0200 hours. Detective Maltese responded to process the scene, and to further investigate the report.   Various items were reported removed from the residence.  Anyone with information please contact this agency.

INCIDENT #11-20893 12:54pm (Pick Pocket)

On Thursday November 3, 2011, a Colts Neck resident had her wallet stolen from her pocket book while she was shopping at the Wegmans Food Store on Route 9 South.  Contained in her purse was approximately $190 in cash.  This is one of several recent pick pocketing incidents at this location within the last few weeks.  This investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up. 

INCIDENT #11-20884 9:25am (Motor Vehicle Accident / Obstruction Arrest)

On Wednesday November 2, 2011, Steven Orak (a 24 year old, white male, from Linden NJ) was arrested by Ptl. Grant who was investigating a motor vehicle accident.  The investigation revealed that Orak drove his car into the back of a pickup truck on Route 9 South and then attempted to flee the scene. 

INCIDENT #11-20669 10:08pm (DWI)

On Saturday October 29, 2011, Gary Patier (a 58 year old, unemployed white male, from Jersey City, NJ) was found urinating on the side of Oakland Mills Road by Ptl Belardo.  Following an investigation, Patier was arrested for driving while intoxicated. 

INCIDENT #11-20880 9:00am (Harassment)

On Wednesday November 2, 2011, a 70 year old Manalapan resident reported that he has been receiving approximately fifty calls per week on cell phone from an unidentified party.  These calls have been occurring every week for approximately one year.

INCIDENT  #11-20976 9:00am (Fraud)

On Thursday November 3, 2011, Pantano Nursery and Landscape Supply reported that a resident in Westfield, NJ paid for landscaping materials with a fraudulent  check.  This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for follow-up.

INCIDENT #11-20726 11:30pm (Assault)

On Sunday October 30, 2011, at approximately 2330hours, Patrolman Mattia and Ptl Sosnowski responded to 327 Rt. 33 for a reported simple assault.  There was a minor injury reported and the dispute was allegedly over cigarettes.  The parties were separated the matter was investigated, and the injured party was treated and released by EMFAS.  Upon speaking to the two individuals involved they did not wish to pursue the matter, they were advised of the Criminal Complaint procedure should they wish to proceed

INCIDENT #11-20738 2:59am (Warrant Arrest)

On Monday 10/31/11 Mohab Elbbayar a 26 year old township resident was stopped by Ptl. Mattaliano at 0259 hours for a motor vehicle violation and subsequently arrested for a traffic warrant out of Old Bridge Township, he was processed and released after posting bail.

INCIDENT #11-20808  1159 pm  (Criminal Mischief)

Sometime between 1100pm and midnight an unknown actor broke the mirror off of a vehicle parked on Devon Drive South. While checking the area patrols located a broken window on a vehicle parked on Devon Drive North. Ptl. Jennie Hensley took the report. 


INCIDENT 2011-20653  5:04 pm (Theft of a Bicycle)

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the victim responded to this agency to report that an unknown actor(s) removed his “We the People” bicycle from a Dey St. address sometime between 1845hrs on 10/28/11 and 1500hrs on 10/29/11.  Victim related that bike was valued at $700.00. Ptl. Jason Vigneault took the report.

INCIDENT 2011-20698 –  (Criminal Mischief)

Sometime between 5:00 pm on 10-29-2011 and noon on 10-30-2011 an unknown actor slashed all four tires on the victim’s vehicle, 2009 Subaru, while it was in the driveway of a Oak Knoll Drive residence. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.  

INCIDENT 2011-20727 1:30 am (Criminal Mischief/Curfew Violation)

As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Old Queens Blvd on October 31, 2011, one 17 year old male from Manalapan and one 17 year old male from Freehold were taken into custody for criminal mischief and curfew violation. As a result of the investigation it was ascertained that the males egged a vehicle located on Springhouse Circle. Both juveniles were released to the custody of a parent. Ptl. Daniel Carey handled the incident. 

INCIDENT 2011- 20734 – 12:37 am  (Possession of Marijuana)

As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Old Queens Blvd on October 31, 2011, Samuel Norman – 15 Stratford drive, Manalapan (18 year old w/m, unemployed) was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, unclear license plates and failure to exhibit dl. Ptl. Daniel Carey made the arrest.


INCIDENT2011-20313 - 1:13PM (DWI- Motor Vehicle Accident)

On October 25, 2011, patrols responded to Woodland Circle for a report of a fully involved car fire. While enroute patrols were advised that a white male subject had fled the scene on foot.  Members of the Gordons Corner Fire Company responded and extinguished the vehicle, a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta. Patrolman Kevin McIntosh located the suspect, identified as Jonathan Ackerman (27 yoa, w/m, Toms River, occupation unknown) on Manor Court and he then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of Detective Charles Alaimo and Leonard Maltese. The investigation revealed that the suspect left the roadway while travelling on Tennent Road and struck a sign post which ruptured the fuel tank. The leaking fuel ignited as the suspect was driving on Woodland Circle. The suspect was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to report an accident and resisiting arrest. The suspect was transported to Centrastate Hospital for an evaluation.

INCIDENT 2011-20138 - 3:44am  (DWI – Motor Vehicle Accident)

On October 23, 2011, police were dispatched to report of a hit and run accident on Westbrook way where the suspect drove across a yard striking several trees prior to fleeing the scene. Police recovered the suspect’s license plate at the scene and subsequently located and arrested Glenn Aaronson of Alexandria Dirve, Manalapan (29 yoa, w/m self employed). Aaronson was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to exhibit documents, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to report a motor vehicle accident.

INCIDENT 2011-20084 – 6:14am (DWI)

On October 22, 2011, the suspect was stopped on Gordon’s Corner Road near Pease Road for operating a vehicle with a flat tire. The suspect Lisa Jaco (w/f , 43 yoa, Cashier) was subsequently charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Unsafe tires, and having a cracked windshield. Ptl. Morgan Joiner made the arrest.

INCIDENT 2011- 20131 – 12:00am (DWI – Motor Vehicle Accident)

On October 22, 2011, at midnight, Sharon Belnavis – (57 yoa, B/f, Shipping and receiving clerk) was involved in a motor vehicle accident on State Hwy 33 east near Country Lanes Bowling Center when she struck a telephone pole. She was subsequently charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, uninsured motor vehicle, and open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. No one was injured during the accident and Ptl. Dominick Donatelli was the arresting officer.

INCIDENT 2011-20063 – 9:09pm (Serious Motor Vehicle Accident) 

On October 21, 2011, patrols responded to Iron Ore Road near Mt. Vernon Road for a reported motor vehicle accident (2007 Nissan Murano)  with involveing an overturned vehicle. Patrol responded and subsequently requested Medivac for a  52 year old male Manalapan resident. The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson and treated and released. Ptl. Eric Voorand handled the initial accident and this matter is pending investigation.

INCIDENT 2011-20035 (Vehicle Burglary)

During the overnight hours from Thursday 10/20/11 until Friday 10/21/11 three vehicles were entered and items were removed. All three vehicles were parked in the victim’s driveway and were unlocked. The first occurred on Peach Tree Lane and involved two vehicles. Taken were cash and change, a camera and various CD’s. The second incident occurred on Turtle Hollow Drive. Taken were a briefcase, laptop and change. Ptl. Robert Kelly and Ptl. Peter Chalfin responded.  The cases have been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

Residents are again reminded to lock their vehicles.

INCIDENT 2011-19989 – 12:50PM  (Theft)

On October 20, 2011,  the victim, a 59 year old, white female, Iselin resident, related that an unknown actor removed $1130.54 in cash and a check book from her purse while she was at work. The incident occurred at the Parkview Center for Pain Management, Bridge Plaza Drive  in Manalapan. Ptl. Seth Kreizman took the report.  The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

INCIDENT 2011-19993  (Theft)

On October 20, 2011, between 1:36 pm and 2:15 pm, an unknown actor removed a wallet from the victim’s purse (79 yoa, w/f , Marlboro  resident) while she was shopping at the Wegmans Store. Taken was $250.00 in cash and numerous credit cards. Ptl. Richard Gallo took the report.

INCIDENT 2011-19925 (Robbery – Aggravated Assault)

On October 29, 2011, at 2:49 pm, patrols responded to Mt. Vernon for a reported assault and robbery that had occurred. The victim related that he was assaulted by two males and robbed of $700.00 in cash. The victim was transported to Centrastate Hospital and his condition is unknown. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli responded and this matter is being investigated by Donatelli and members of the detective bureau

INCIDENT 2011-19845 – 12:19 pm (Theft)

On October 18, 2011, patrols were dispatched to a report of a female entering vehicles in the parking lot of the Yorktowne Shopping center. Upon arrival they observed a female matching the description and a subsequent investigation found her to be in possession of 2 Garmin GPS units. The suspect, Ashley Corrao (6 Lee St, South River, NJ – w/f – 09/18/1993, unemployed) was subsequently charged with Burglary and receiving stolen property. She was remanded to MCCI in default of $11,000.00 bail. Captain Chris Marsala and Ptl. Michael Hoppock were the arresting officers

INCIDENT 2011-19891 – 11:05 pm (Aggravated Assault)

On October 18, 2011, patrols were dispatched to 160 Oakland Mills road for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival it was determined that a 52 year old male victim had been stabbed once in the upper chest. The victim was subsequently transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune for treatment. A male suspect, identified as Erikan Hassan (29 yrs, w/m, unemployed) was located at the scene and subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The suspect was lodged in MCCI with a $10,000 no 10% bail.

INCIDENT 2011-19809 – 9:46 pm (Drug Distribution)

As a result of an investigation by Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik on October 17, 2011 at 9:46pm, Davon Rolfe (18D Pinecluster Cirlce, Manalapan, DOB:07/17/81, black male, self-employed) – was charged with Distribution of Oxycodone, Possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and tinted windows. The suspect was processed and lodged in MCCI in default of 20,000 bail with no 10% option.  A 2003 Acura TL and $1755.00 in cash was seized for forfeiture. 

INCIDENT J-2011-16744 (Aggravated Assault)

Four local juveniles have been charged by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office with robbery, aggravated assault, and inciting a riot after an investigation into a late night robbery.  On September 1, at approximately 11:30pm in the area of Holiday Park on Blenheim Road, four juveniles jumped two victims who were riding their bikes.  During the assault, one victim had his jaw broken before his bike was stolen.  This incident was investigated by the Detective Bureau.  

INCIDENT 2011-19611 – 1:34 am (DWI)

On October 15, 2011, Stephen Romanowitch 3rd (3 Shades of Death Road, Great Meadows, NJ 07838, 37 year old Male) was stopped for a motor violation of Route 9 North near Taylor Mills Road on 10/15/2011 at approximately 0127 hrs.  During the stop, Stephen was found to be Under the Influence of Alcohol.  He was arrested and was given six motor vehicle summonses which include 39:4-50 – DWI.  Ptl. Voorand handled this incident.

INCIDENT 2011-19671   - 9:40pm (Weapons Possession)

On October 15, 2011, Matheus R. Pontes (26 Forest Dr, Manalapan, NJ 07726) was stopped for motor vehicle violation on Union Hill Rd. and Forest Dr at approximately 2140 hours.  During the stop Matheus was found to be in possession of a switchblade knife with metal knuckles.  He was arrested and served with summons for unlawful possession of weapon and possession of switchblade knife and metal knuckles.  Ptl. Dan Carey #125 handled this incident.

INCIDENT 2011-19382 -1:09 pm (Criminal Mischief)

Sometime between 10 pm on 10/10/11 and 1130 am on 10/11/2011 an unknown actor keyed the victim’s  vehicle while it was parked on Shinnecock Drive. Ptl. George Heitz took the report.

INCIDENT J2011-19426 -12:25 pm (Aggravated Assault)

 On October 12, 2011, after being contacted by authorities at Manalapan High School, a 15 year old male was charged with aggravated assault at the Manalapan High School after he pushed a security officer while being detained. The juvenile was processed and released to his mother. Ptl. Dominick Donatelli Jr handled the incident.

INCIDENT J2011-19482 – 07:44 am (Drug Arrest)

On October 13, 2011, two Manalapan juveniles, a 16 year old male and a 17 year old female were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia (pipe) after being observed smoking marijuana on school property. The juveniles were detained by school security and Ptl. Peter Chalfin responded to the call. Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents.

INCIDENT 2011-19483 – 7:55 AM (Vehicle Burglary)

Sometime between 8:30 pm on October 12th and 6:00 am on October 13th unknown actor entered a van parked in a driveway on Navajo Road and removed various power tools valued at more than $1500.00. There was no sign of forced entry and Ptl. Seth Kreizman took the report.  This incident has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

INCIDENT 2011-19484 - 08:18 am (Stolen Vehicle)

Sometime between midnight and 2 am on 10/13/2011 an unknown actor stole a black, 2010 Toyota Rav 4 from a Pension road driveway. The vehicle is valued at $30,000.00 – Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report.  This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

INCIDENT 2011-19487 – 09:16 am (Vehicle Burglary)

On October 13, 2011, sometime between 1:00 am and 9:00 am, an unknown actor smashed the passenger side window of a van parked in a driveway on Wiltshire Drive and removed assorted tools and copper valued at $1300.00. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh took the report.  This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

INCIDENT 2011-19498 - 10:00am (Vehicle Burglary)

On October 13, 2011, unknown actors entered two vehicles parked at an Apache Drive address.  A combined total of approximately $20,000 worth of tools were removed from the two vehicles.  Officer Gallo took the report.  This incident has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation. 

October 3 - October 9, 2011

INCIDENT 2011-18870 – 3:40 pm (Shoplifting)

On Monday, October 3, 2011, at approximately 1540 hours, this agency was contacted by Wegmans Loss Prevention in reference to a shoplifting that was taking place. Loss Prevention indicated that they observed two subjects shoplifting assorted baby products (formula and diapers). Upon arrival contact was made with the arrestee in the parking lot of the shopping center. Danielle Anunziata (25 yoa, w/f) of South Amboy was placed under arrest for shoplifting. A male suspect had left the area prior to patrols arrival. The merchandise was valued at $897.71. It should be noted that Wegmans was able to recover all of the merchandise. This case is pending court. Ptl. Jared Aronson responded.

INCIDENT 2011-18557 – 12:20 pm (Warrant Arrest)

On October 4, 2011 Omars S. Aburub, age 21 of Marlboro Township New Jersey was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of this authority by Patrolman Heitz. He was released from custody after posting bail.

INCIDENT 2011-18924 - 1:58 pm (Hit and Run Accident)

On October 4, 2011, a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Michael Mintz of Freehold, NJ struck a parked vehicle in the Home Goods parking lot on Route 9 South in Manalapan Township. Mintz's vehicle then left the scene. A witness to the collision reported the incident to the police and Patrolman George Heitz was able to identify and charge Mintz with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report an Accident, and Carless Driving.

INCIDENT 2011-19272 – 9:44 pm (DWI)

On October 9, 2011, after being observed driving the wrong way on State Hwy 33, Josie Velosa (48 yoa, Hispanic male) was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, being an unlicensed driver, and driving the against traffic. Ptl. Jason Vigneault made the arrest

September 26 - October 2, 2011

Incident 2011-18439 (Warrant Arrest)
On 09/26/2011 Patrolman Peter Chalfin responded to Arbach Lane upon a report of an ATV being operated recklessly on the roadway. Ptl. Chalfin responded and located the suspect, identified as Max Goldberg, 19 yoa, w/m – 24 Arbach Lane). The officer approached the suspect in his driveway and requested his driver’s license at which time the suspect entered his residence and refused to exit telling the officer to come back when he had a warrant. The suspect was subsequently charged with eight motor vehicle violations: reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to use turn signal, use of ATV on public roadway, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, failure to display registration, and failure to wear a helmet. He was also charged with a criminal violation for Obstructing the administration of justice. Officers returned to the residence with the arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody, he was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $1000.00 bail. 

Incident 2011-18440 (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 1 pm Sunday 09/25/2011 and 1100 am Monday 09/26/2011 unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway on Ryan Road. The suspect removed an ipod, gps, and a Bluetooth speaker with a total value of $365.00. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.

Sometime between 230 pm and 403 pm on Monday, 09/26 unknown actor broke the driver’s side window on a vehicle parked on Mount Avenue.

Incident 2011-18475 (Stolen Vehicle)
Sometime between 9 pm on 09/26/2011 and 620 am on 09/27/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a Burgundy, 2010 Mercedes Benz GL450 from a residence on Silver Leaf Way. Ptl. Mattia responded and this matter has been turned over to the Detective Bureau.

Incident 2011-18485 (Stolen Vehicle)
Sometime between 1130 pm Monday 09/26/2011 and 1000 am Tuesday 09/27/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a blue, 2012 BMW 650 convertible from the driveway of a Carrie Drive residence. Ptl. Jared Aronson responded and this matter is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

Incident 2011-18486 (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 4pm on Sunday 09/25 and 0730am on Monday 09/26 unknown actor(s) entered an unlocked vehicle on Wilson Court and removed a gps unit, a wallet, a phone charger and other personal items valued at $340.00

Incident 2011-18487 (Residential Burglary)
Sometime on 09/27/2011 an unknown actor entered a residence on Joseph Street and removed a compound saw and portable air compressor. Access was gained to the residence after the actor activated the garage door opener from within the victim’s vehicle. Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik responded and this matter was turned over to the Detective Bureau

Incident 2011-18519 (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 830pm Monday 09/26/2011 and 1 pm Tuesday 09/27/2011 unknown actors removed prescription medication from an unlocked vehicle parked on Deer Way.  Ptl. Jason Vigneault responded.

Incident 2011-18537 (Stolen Vehicle)
Sometime between 1000 pm on 09/27/2011 and 0525 am on 09/28/2011 unknown actor(s) removed a 2011 Black Landrover valued at $ 63,000 from a residence on Turtle Hollow Drive. The vehicle which was equipped with smartkey technology had the keys left in the vehicle. Ptl. Steve Turner responded and this incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

September 19 - September 25, 2011

Incident J2011-17986 (Drug Arrest)
On 09/20/2011 at 0803 am police were contacted to respond to Manalapan High School at the request of school officials. As the result of a school investigation three Manalapan juveniles, two 17 year old males were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia (pipe), one 16 year old female was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of Xanax without a prescription. All 3 were processed and released to their parents. Ptl. Kevin McIntosh was the arresting officer.

Incident 2011-18227 (Vehicle Burglary)
Sometime between 735 pm on 09/22 and 835 pm on 9/22 unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Knox Lane and subsequently removed a laptop with case valued at $1100.00.

Incident 2011-18303 (Criminal Mischief)
On 09/24/2011 at 1209 pm 1 male and 2 female juveniles damaged the metal gate and broke a window to the concession stand at the Dreyer lot pavilion in the Manalapan Recreation Center. The case in pending investigation by Ptl. Kenneth Mikulik.

Incident 2011-18305 (Residential Burglary)
On 09/24/2011 an Iron Ore Road resident reported a burglary to a residence. An unknown actor(s) entered the residence and removed assorted power tools between 09/11/2011 and 09/24/2011. Ptl. Brian Schank responded and the matter has been assigned to the Detective Bureau.

Incident 2011-18289 (Vehicle Burglary)
On 09/24/11 between 0010 am and 0715 am unknown actor entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet containing personal items and cash while the vehicle was parked in the Wegman’s lot. Security camera footage is being reviewed. Ptl. Brian Schank responded.

Incident 2011-18290 (Residential Burglary)
Sometime on 09/23/2011 an unknown actor(s) forcibly entered a residence on Sweetman’s Lane and removed jewelry and loose change. Entry was gained by forcing open a front window. Ptl. Schank responded and the matter has been assigned to the detective bureau.

Incident 2011-18349 (Hit and Run Accident)
On 09/25 at 0243 am as a result of dispute between two parties, Anthony Scafuri (24 yoa – w/m- Manalapan) was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to report a motor vehicle accident and driving without headlights.  Scafuri reportedly drove over the foot of a pedestrian on Craig Road at Adams Court resulting in a minor injury. Ptl. Dennis O’Brien handled the investigation.

Incident 2011-18361 (Drug Distribution)
As a result of a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman James Joiner and Patrolman Kenneth Mikulik on Wilson Ave at 1213pm on 09/25/2011 Richard Trujillo (h/m – 23 yoa – Elizabeth, NJ – single) was arrested and charged with possession of of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seatbelt and loud exhaust. He was subsequently lodged in MCCI in default of $1000.00 bail.

Incident 2011-18380 (Attempted Residential Burglary)
Sometime between Friday 09/23/2011 and 0830 am on Sunday 09/25/11 unknown actor(s) attempted to forcibly enter the rear of a residence on Pease Road. No entry was gained – Ptl. Kevin Ruditsky responded.
